The Kills are a match made in heaven and one of most unique alternative rock bands of the 21st century. The duo, consisting of American singer Alison “VV” Mosshart and British guitarist Jamie “Hotel” Hince, came together rather unexpectedly back in 2000. At the time, both were musicians apart of their own respective bands, however after meeting suddenly in flat in London, Mosshart insisted that the two create music together.
Living in separate continents, the pair exchanged tapes through the mail once Mosshart’s band Discount disbanded in 2000. The method hindered their work, so VV decided to cross the Atlantic so the duo could write faster. After self-releasing a demo that showcased their gritty, sexy sound, The Kills became a bona-fide couple in the music scene.
Fast forward to now, The Kills have released five studio albums – their most recent, Ash & Ice. The release garnered favorable reviews from a number of the most respected critics in the industry. The Kills have a knack for appealing to a global audience and stopped in nearly every major country in support of Ash & Ice. Recently, their travels brought them to Atlanta for a jam-packed show at the Buckhead Theatre. VV and Hotel shined in the spotlight and left the southern city with an energized performance.
The Kills’ tour continues with stops in six different North American cities before the pair jet over to Europe for nearly two months on the road – charming their audience along the way.
