Mumford & Sons return with new single “Guiding Light” from upcoming album ‘Delta’

Mumford & Sons is back, this time with new single “Guiding Light,” which is a part of their fourth studio album, Delta, set to release on Nov. 16.

“It was hard work, we tried it loads of different ways,” frontman Marcus Mumford told BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac about the new song. “We wrote it like a year ago, and it’s taken a while just to get it to that point, and now we’re happy with it.”

Like their previous album Wilder Mind, Mumford & Sons also revealed to BBC Radio 1 that Delta will be even more of an experiment, unlike previous albums.

“The first records, we had restrictions on ourselves just from what the instruments we had on tour were, and when we were writing it was on tour, so we didn’t have much time to delve into the studio,” Mumford said during the interview. “The third album we put some boundaries, but on this record it felt like there have been no boundaries creatively.”

The band will perform the single on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, Sep. 24 before announcing a 60-day worldwide tour on Oct. 4
