Grammy winning band Switchfoot has announced that their year long hiatus is over with brand new music and an upcoming three month tour.
The band has been giving hints of something new around the bend for their anxious fans via social media.
“The journey begins… 10/19/18,” is what their posts from Instagram to email read back mid September; posting various black & white photos of their soon to be new single, and title of their 11th studio album, Native Tongue.
“My friends! We’re so excited to present this album to you. In a world driven by fear we wanted this album to be a love letter,” frontman John Foreman said. “An invitation. Calling anyone with ears to hear back to a beauty and transcendence that does not rely on the fallible rhetoric of force.”
In 2017, San Diego natives announced via their social media that after of years of constant touring and traveling, that the band, along with their hardy crew would be taking a year off the road to spend time at home with family, friends and each other. But the break couldn’t take the music out of the five piece band.
Switchfoot will kick off the Native Tongue Tour in Asheville, N.C. on Valentines Day and wind down in Vancouver on April 13th with special guests Colony House and Tyson Motsenbocker. Check out the full list of tour dates below or listen to the brand new track “Native Tongue” above.
