Charlotte’s first hip-hop music festival, New Era Music Fest announced its official lineup.
Commencing at the New Era Music House on April 21, the inaugural festival features over 50 local, regional and national hip-hop artists. From thriving Chicago to North Carolina’s capital Raleigh, artists such as Th3 Higher, VVG, Black Linen, Yung Blaza, and Jamee Cornelia highlight the groundbreaking event for Carolina’s hip-hop music scene.
By way of networking groups, creating a new venue and promoting other local acts consistently, festival founder Tizzy Farragami is paving the way to success and bringing the entire community with him.
“I have been traveling, performing and hosting my own events for the past four years and I’ve seen a lot of great talent.” says Farragami. “My purpose for this festival is to shed a light on the overwhelming amount of high-quality hip-hop artists not only in Charlotte but also in North Carolina. My goal is that after the completion of the festival everyone involved rises to a level where we can all break free from the “chains” that hold us to the reliance of a 9-5.
“This festival from top to bottom is solid, with no weak links at all. Everyone involved is an extremely talented individual and deserves way more than what the traditional job pays them. The quote “its lonely at the top” was always weird to me. I want to be at the top but I don’t want to be lonely, so I’ll just bring all of my friends to the top with me. The New Era Music Fest will be the starting point for a lot of careers.”
An array of vendors, including food trucks and clothing lines, will be present at the festival.
