5 must see-bands at Warped Tour 2016

0

North America’s longest-running touring festival, Warped Tour, is nearly upon us and once again, the lineup promises for a fun-filled, sunburnt summer. With old favorites such as Yellowcard and Good Charlotte to first timers Like Pacific, founder Kevin Lyman receives a round of applause for putting the music in the limelight for the 22nd year running.

Check out our list of the five must see bands at Warped Tour this year:

Tonight Alive

These pop-punk rockers are back for another go at Warped Tour this summer, however this time they’re coming with their new album Limitless. While Jenna McDougall and Tonight Alive changed up their style on their third full-length release, the front-woman voiced in an interview with Alternative Press that the album is “built for Warped Tour.”

It’s built to be played on a big stage in a wide open space, and also to play to people that may not have heard Tonight Alive before, which I think is going to be a lot of people, I’m really excited about it.

Waterparks

No, not that kind of water parks. If you haven’t heard of Waterparks (which we’re assuming), now is your chance to search them on Spotify and press play (actually, we’ll do the hard work for you). Good Charlotte entrusted them as the opening act in their reunion show a year ago, and if they’re good enough for GC, they’re good enough for us. Consider yourself warned.

Against The Current

From YouTube stars to promising young musicians. Against the Current is one Warped Tour away from acquiring unprecedented attention. The Poughkeepsie three-piece pop rock band just released their debut album In Our Bones weeks ago which met everyone’s expectations, receiving flattering critical reviews. We’re sure that the sea of listeners in front of their Cyclops Stage will grow as the summer progresses.

Sleeping With Sirens

Did you really think we could we leave Kellin Quinn and Sleeping With Sirens off this list? The Floridians’ popularity continues to rise each year and they’re by no means Warped Tour rookies. Sleeping With Sirens are sure to attract a large crowd once again, however if you can maneuver to the front, whether that’s pretending your friend is saving your spot or crowd surfing, you’ll be rewarded. In the latest Alternative Press, Quinn revealed that this year is “going to be really high-energy from beginning to end.”

Good Charlotte

Even though the pop punk legends are only on the tour for a limited time (July 19 - July 28), they’re a must see! After a hiatus which felt like an eternity, the boys are back and “The Anthem” just might become the summer anthem yet again. It’s not too late to dust off that copy of The Young and The Hopeless.
