New Zealand native Broods brought their “Conscious” tour to Atlanta’s Center Stage venue in support of their second album of the same title. Broods may be relatively new to the music industry scene, yet they have already carved out quite a name for themselves by serving as openers to such big names as Sam Smith, Haim, and Ellie Goulding in the past.
The show begins in a timely manner, with Broods’ Georgia Nott decked in all black attire underneath a suave leather fringe jacket stepping onto the low lit stage. She is accompanied by her multi-instrumentalist brother Caleb Nott as well as two touring musicians. After a short introduction with a rousing response from the crowd, the siblings commence their act with the namesake track from the latest album.

Georgia Nott, while small in stature, possesses a larger than life vocal range that brings the house down when performing powerful tracks like “Everytime” and “Free.” Atlanta fans can be proud this talented front woman shares a name with their home state. A short way into the performance, Caleb Nott joins sister Georgia front and center to perform acoustic versions of tracks “All of your Glory” and “Taking you There.”
The siblings have an intensely devoted fan-base. This became evident when hours before the doors opened, many were already patiently waiting in a long snaking line outside the venue hall. Every song was a hit for the crowd, and while their voices may have been no match for Georgia’s, their backup vocals added an extra layer of enjoyment to the show as it is clear Broods’ music has resonated with them.
The 20 track concert comes to a satisfying end when the band does an encore presentation including “Four Walls”, “Bridges” and “Couldn’t Believe”. Fans leaving the show were clearly delighted, commenting to fellow concertgoers about the unparalleled moments the show produced. Be sure to catch Broods in concert in November supporting Two Door Cinema Club… you’ll thank us later.
