Of Montreal is one of the most unique bands in the scene today. Founded by singer/guitarist Kevin Barnes, Of Montreal emerged from the Elephant 6 collective back in 1996. Barnes, a native of Georgia, was inspired to form the euphoric pop band after a break-up with a woman from Montreal. Over the band’s 20 year tenure, their musical style has evolved and draws inspiration from numerous 1960s psychedelic pop acts.
Of Montreal recently released their 14th studio album, Innocence Reaches, and dove into their fall tour tour. Barnes and co. kicked off the list of shows in their hometown of Athens, and sold out the 40 Watt Club. A 28 song setlist, including a David Bowie and Prince cover, entertained the hundreds in attendance and made for a memorable night.
Of Montreal will make 43 stops across the U.S. on their tour and will finish in Atlanta on Halloween.
