Can we fast forward to May? Chvrches recently unveiled their third single, “Never Say Die,” off their highly anticipated forthcoming album Love Is Dead, set for release on May 25. The Scottish band’s third single follows previous releases “Get Out” and “My Enemy” featuring The National’s Matt Berninger.

According to Chvrches’ Lauren Mayberry, “Never Say Die” embodies what her band is all about: “the mixture between the dark and the light.”

“‘Never Say Die’ is one of my favorite songs on the record because it really leans into the juxtaposition of what we do — the mixture between the dark and the light,” Mayberry shared in a statement. “It’s melodic and direct but uses some of the gnarliest sounds we’ve ever tried.”

She continued, “The chorus lyric came about very quickly but the verses took a lot longer. I really wanted to sum up a feeling of trying to be optimistic when you feel disillusioned by the people around you, but trying to keep going because ‘Goonies Never Say Die’.”
