Iron Maiden bring The Book Of Souls World Tour to Charlotte

British heavy metal icons Iron Maiden recently kicked off the North American stint of The Book Of Souls World Tour and Charlotte is about to get a glimpse of the theatrical spectacle. Hitting the road in late April, Iron Maiden rolled through Europe and visited a few cities they haven’t played in years, all while performing at some of the world’s most renowned arenas.

Recently, Iron Maiden bassist and main songwriter Steve Harris told the Express & Star: “We are really looking forward to returning to North America for a full tour. We had always planned to go back there and to the U.K. as last year, due to the global nature of the tour and the period it took, we just didn’t have time to cover them properly and we do still like to get to fans in as many places as possible.”

It’s been quite a long time since the band played Charlotte, almost five years to be exact. Anyone at the show on the Maiden England Tour can vouch for the dramatics and stage craft that Iron Maiden brought with them across the pond. Pyrotechnics, lavish lighting and a 10-foot tall Eddie (Iron Maiden’s mascot) - all of which combined for a legendary show, and much of the same can be expected this time around.

“Most of our North American fans haven’t seen the show yet, so as we want to give them the same ‘Book Of Souls’ live experience that we took around the world, it’s unlikely we’ll change much,” Iron Maiden told Blabbermouth. “And, of course, we know our fans appreciate us playing a lot of the older songs too, so we will continue to do that.”

Iron Maiden’s The Book Of Souls Tour stops in Charlotte on June 9 at PNC Music Pavilion. Swedish heavy metal band, Ghost, is along to support and provide fans its own showy performance. Tickets for the concert can be purchased here via Live Nation.

From the looks of fan-captured videos, The Book Of Souls Tour is must-see. Check out “If Eternity Should Fail” from Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Va. above.
