Nashville-based blues-rock vocalist and songwriter Gina Sicilia ended a four-year wait recently and released her new LP Tug of War. Blessed with a rugged and soulful delivery, Sicilia delivered an album that takes its listeners to a simpler time, devoid of the flashiness of modern mainstream music.
Sicilia does a splendid job of relying on her powerful vocals, stellar song-writing and solid team of instrumentalists to ultimately present us with a worthwhile album deserving of your undivided attention.
Native to Philadelphia, Sicilia attended Temple University with plans to start a career in journalism. However, her natural gifts swayed her desire. While still in school, she released her 2007 debut, Allow Me to Confess, and she immediately began to pick up momentum in the music industry. She signed to one of the nation’s premier roots music booking agencies and began to tour globe, all while regularly producing music.
Fast forward to now, very little has changed.
Gina Sicilia’s tour in support of Tug of War stops in Atlanta at Blind Willie’s on June 8 and Charlotte at the Heist Brewery on June 9. For tour dates or more about Gina Sicilia and her music, click here.
