Breakaway Music Festival comes to Charlotte

Charlotte musicophiles have been yearning for more music festivals in the booming city for years. In October, their wishes will become a reality with Breakaway Music Festival; an experience catered toward up-and-coming contemporary acts that breakaway from traditional music genres.

In 2016, Breakaway Music Festival brought in over 20,000 attendees to Columbus, OH, with notable acts including Chance The Rapper, Rae Sremmurd, Dillon Francis, Young Thug, Benny Benassi and RL Grime.

Charlotte is in for some of the same. This year’s headliner is Zedd, one of the most renowned beat-makers worldwide with hits such as “Stay” and “Stay The Night.” Accompanying the DJ is Lil Dicky, Super Duper Kyle, Blackbear, Cheat Codes, Corrupt, Rowshay and Yona.

“Zedd is not only at the top of his career, he makes music that stands the test of time,” said co-founder Adam Lynn about this year’s Charlotte headliner. “We were looking for a headlining act to best represent the Breakaway Music Festival brand and he does just that.”

The all-day event will be hosted at the AvidXchange Music Factory. Tickets for the festival are on sale now here. See you at Breakaway!
